They were much better than the Chinese bearings I replaced with these. The bearings I had before were from Car Quest. The Car Quest bearings were made in China and have been on my Jeep for about 2 months. One day I noticed an oil leak on the passenger bike. As it turned out, the bearing bracket broke and the axle shaft came out. If it weren't for the fact that I had disc brakes and calipers preventing the shaft from coming out, I would have had a much bigger problem. The brackets that come with this Timken kit are more like an OEM bracket that I removed from the Chinese one. the bolts seemed to be made of heavier steel. I suspect that the hardness of the Chinese holders makes them brittle, which is not a good thing in a stressful application. They weren't much bigger than a Chinese set, so they were good value for money.
