This particular unit was purchased because I recently bought another one as a gift. The person I bought it for got a new car and the phone mount was interfering with shifting. She wanted a new phone that would allow her to see her phone, use it, and not get in the way while changing cars. I bought her this one and she loves it. I confess when I installed it I had no trouble setting it up. The only thing I highly recommend is adjusting the "hand" holding the phone BEFORE inserting it into the cup holder and tightening. If you don't, pull it out of the cup holder, and I was afraid I'd break it if you tried to do it in place. I had no trouble taking it out, adjusting the angle and putting it back in the cup holder. Excellent purchase
