Typical Blu phones

First, it only comes with June security patches and doesn't get newer ones via OTA. Comes with typical Blu malware. The camera is not bad but could be improved. When they're disabled, I like the phone's cameras, which require little to no manipulation other than zooming in. Pixel, Samsung, and even iPhones all have this feature, but we're talking about a $200 phone so I won't say much. The only thing I complain about is Blu in general, their customer service is probably the worst as well as their reputation for updates = NEVER and promises they NEVER keep. Build quality is good for $200.00, fingerprint reader could be faster but works, annoying startup sound can't be turned off, technically the APN settings for AT&T are wrong so you need to go in and change them, the phone is for intended for a general user not an advanced user. 4GB is fine, but runs out quickly if you're running more than 2 or 3 apps - Outlook, Chrome and Word open at the same time tend to freeze the phone, requiring a hard reboot. The Play Store tends to choke on loading but is catching up - no, that's not my internet connection for those asking. The P60 chip is fine for basic gaming, but don't try to do anything heavy with it. The brightness of the screen on the street is bad, I mean very bad, the screen is barely legible. Bluetooth connects to headphones and smartwatches, but still has issues with new cars, tending to break and reconnect. I'm not a big fan of Face Unlock and it's decent but not like Samsung or Apple. Charging is good but generally slower than advertised for both wired and wireless charging. The sound is a bit tinny, the microphone is ok, but there is room for improvement. If you want a basic use phone and it looks cool, $200 can't go wrong, but if you're a bit more advanced and use it for more than just basic functions, I'd go for something that's heavy duty is more appropriate.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable buy for the elderly
