Review on CKL 4 Port KVM Switch Dual Monitor DisplayPort 4K 60Hz: Unprecedented Multi-Computer Control with Audio, USB 2.0 HUBS, and DP 1.2 by John Anaya

Worst KVM switch I've used

At first I was thrilled that I finally had a DisplayPort KVM switch that supported four computers with two monitors, and I kept this unit as a backup for a while before finally plugging it in. When I did, I was monumentally disappointed. I have a three monitor setup, with two monitors connected to a KVM switch and one connected directly to my main Linux machine. With my old KVM switch, switching from machine A to machine B meant that machine A continued to function exactly as if I hadn't switched, with no change whatsoever. This is the expected behavior. With this CKL device, switching from A to B meant A could no longer see a monitor, completely resetting my display settings and messing up everything I was doing on this machine! This completely defeats the purpose of using a KVM switch! No KVM switch would be better than this product.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
