This is a good firepit mat, and I love how it helps radiate some of the heat back up from the ground. I got this in advance of getting a deck, as I’ve always used my firepit on a concrete slab and didn’t have to worry. I’ve been testing this with my slab and do see a difference in the heat under the unit, carefully lifting up the edge and measuring the under temp compared to without it. In addition this helps reflect some heat back up toward your legs when sitting around, so its a nice bonus. The only negative I have is that it was folded up for shipping and the creases still have not come out. Over time they likely will, but its a slow process. Still this works well and the fold doesn’t take away from the function.
