We have a few inches of good topsoil and the rest is clay. The snail went straight through and I was able to enlarge the holes by moving the blade from side to side. It worked great with a DeWalt 18V and the blade looked great. A tip: make sure you have a good grip on the drill, hard clay or hitting a rock will cause the drill to twist but hold the blade.
