I have no experience with wetsuits but as far as I can tell it works. I did some research before buying and it was $50-$100 less than others I considered. I've used it 4 times on a wakeboard and the difference is huge. Without them I wouldn't have lasted so long in the water. Also, I'm glad to be back, whereas before I would have loved to just hang out in the boat and drink beer because the water is so cold. As many have already mentioned, it is better to choose one size larger. According to the chart I should be average - 5'10, 175, chest 40 inches, waist 32 inches. went with the big one and fits well. Consistently cozy - I still can't close it completely. The only downside would be that the neck doesn't get very tight so when you dive in water gets in and shakes me a bit and runs down my back. . As soon as it doesn't bother me, although otherwise I feel very comfortable.
