Review on 🥣 KitchenAid KSMSFTA Sifter and Scale Attachment, White, 4-Cup Capacity by Shane Picot

Loud grinding noise

I was very happy to have bought and used this strainer and scale for my blender as I bake a lot but I sent it back after a few days. This strainer and scale attachment plugs into the KitchenAid socket on the front to power the strainer and the scale runs on batteries that you can easily install. I was excited about this scale because sifting alone can often be tedious and makes a huge mess if you try to sift while the blender is running. This attachment solves that problem by helping you measure, sift, and add all at once while the blender is running. The only overwhelming downside is the shredding. This nozzle just keeps making a LOUD grinding noise and shakes the nozzle back and forth. You might think the whole nozzle is broken because of the awful noise. I had to constantly turn off the blender to make sure metal didn't get into the screen. When I opened it up to take a look, it just seemed like a design flaw where the strainer's "blade" is pressed too hard against the strainer and makes an awful noise when working. I suspect KitchenAid didn't have to make it that tight, but with some manufacturing experience it will eventually break due to the constant pressure on the mesh. That's why I ended up sending mine back. You might not be bothered by the loud grinding noise, but for the price, I expected more from KitchenAid. In theory this attachment is great and I loved the promise of hassle free sifting, but I just didn't like the way this machine grinds all the time and didn't want my machine to break down after a few uses. .
