As an avid audio enthusiast for decades, I have always been very skeptical of the exaggerated claims made by high quality cable manufacturers. I'm still skeptical of cables that cost hundreds of dollars, but then again, I've changed my mind about the importance of quality speaker cable. I recently replaced a pair of Lowes speaker wires with a Sewell Silverback 12 ga wire harness. I was very surprised at the positive impact the new cables had on the performance of my modest 2.1 system (FLAC, Teac UD301 DAC, Onkyo A9150 amp, Klipsch RP250F and Polk subwoofer). The sound seemed to open up, especially in the mid frequencies. Vocals appear less constrained and more natural. A very nice improvement at a very reasonable price. The build quality of the Sewell Silverback cables is top notch and other users have reported that they have NO noticeable odour.
