I had high hopes for this straightener. I was looking for a cheaper alternative to Chi which I have had for 10 years and found very good. Unfortunately, this iron seemed and looked cheap. It wasn't as hard as my old chi iron. The plates almost didn't touch. I could see daylight between them if I didn't press too hard. It also just glided through my hair without straightening it. I felt like he didn't even touch my hair. I tried going through my hair several times but it didn't help. I was very disappointed based on all the great reviews. I don't understand why there are so many. It was like an iron you can buy at Walmart or Target.
