I know Apple doesn't recommend this for pet tracking. However, there are reviews (good/bad) about using it for this purpose and I was willing to try it. We live on a farm and the dog is old, blind, deaf and roaming. The device is probably great for tracking down lost keys around your house (5 stars if that's what you're looking for) but unfortunately the range is very limited (maybe 20-30ft) when you're in the woods looking for a moving object. Goal. I love the Find My Phone feature and it has saved my ass many times. I'm hoping it's only a matter of time before Apple releases a Find My Pet device, or at least a device that notifies me when the device goes out of range of our Wi-Fi.
