I bought this in May 2019. I originally bought this for its primary function of getting in and out of the bed of my lifted truck, which it's great for. I also got it because I saw reviews of it saving a customer's car after a rear-end collision. I was hit from behind today (June 2021) and this thing saved my car. It's hard to tell from the picture, but he just pushed down and absorbed all the impact. Fortunately my car was not damaged as far as I can tell. This item is worth every penny and I will buy another one. It looks great, works great and could potentially protect your car in a crash. Do yourself a favor and get one of these for your car.
