I took this mainly for my Dell Venue 8 Pro and partly for my 2012 Nexus 7 model. DV8P works straight away, plugged in, plugged into CAT5 and it works. No problem, it's faster and much more secure than WiFi. There is nothing more to say about it: it just works. But the 2012 Nexus 7 is a whole different story. It's supposedly possible on XDA to get the Nexus 7 to detect and use an Ethernet connection, but I can't seem to get it to work despite following the XDA steps. My N7 is not rooted and that could be a problem. I haven't tried it on my iPad 3 in part because I can't find an adapter or a range of microUSB to USB female adapters to connect the 30-pin cable. The Android issue is almost certainly software related and my Nexus 7 is running Android 4.4.2. There were no problems with Windows 8.1. I recently tried this on my Nexus 9 and although the adapter initially lights up, nothing happens. So 0 to 2 on two Android tablets, but 1 to 1 on a Windows tablet.
