The bottom of my MBP

When I first got the bacon bowl I really liked it. The color was nice and it was soft to the touch hard plastic. However, over time, fingerprints and dirt remained on the case, which apparently could not be removed even by cleaning. Still, I liked it and decided to keep it. Applying the peel was easy. The shell seemed to snap onto the Macbook and held up pretty well. The problem arose when the corners of the case broke off at the bottom of the case. When the corners first cracked, I removed the bottom of the case to inspect my case. I found several scratches of varying depth on the bottom of my Mac. I don't think this is an issue for everyone who has bought a case, but it was enough to turn me off Speck cases forever. Removing the lower case was easy due to the broken corners. The upper part of the hull was much more difficult. I was afraid of breaking my monitor and was only able to remove the case itself by breaking it. I later learned from a co-worker that she had the same problem with the Speck shell scratching her Mac. It was a great case until it broke, but I'll probably never use the bacon case again.
