Review on Daystar SportTrac Polyurethane KF04015BK America by Kadarius Gentry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy work for a shade tree mechanic

2003 Sporttrac with badly worn bushings. You need this kit. Jack. A piece of wood or a large 6 foot piece of wood. Head 15mm. Deep head 18mm and extension. The lock works on one side at a time. Peel back carpet to reveal rubber hole plugs and remove to reveal screw head. Now I heated the bolt under the truck for about 1 minute and then tried to remove the bolt. It worked fine for me, my nuts and bolts weren't rusty or corroded. This bolt is about 6 inches long, so it will take some time to remove. The bottom plate that holds the hub to the frame is connected to the top plate so there is no need to hold it down. when loosening the screw. There are three of them and one in front of the radiator. Since I have footpegs on my truck, I placed a landscape bar under the footpeg and SLOWLY lifted the body off the frame. It took me a few times to jack up and search, jack up and search, but you can get the height you need to remove and replace the bushings. Remove the old ones one by one and replace them with new ones. Great kit from DAYSTAR, instructions are easy to follow, bushings are labeled for easy identification, quick and easy to assemble. My total time is 4 hours, yours may vary. The truck drives now and feels like new. No more rolling and nodding, no more squeaking and moaning. I would love to give them 10 stars but five is all I can do. VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER.

Pros
  • Outperforms stock rubber mounts
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
