I bought this so we could show family photos in a slideshow on the spare monitor we have. The display quality is excellent and the menu navigation is quite simple. However, I regret the purchase for three main reasons. First, the device is programmed to FILL the screen with images, ignoring the native scaling on the image. You have the aspect ratio button on the remote to fix the problem, but as soon as you resume playback, the images are stretched and distorted again. Also, all images will be rotated to landscape mode regardless of whether they were taken in portrait orientation or not. So all your photos of nice people turn them sideways. I also noticed that there is no shuffle function, so all the images are displayed in the order in which they are on the memory card. Second, it says it can read up to 2TB external hard drive. Well, I bought a 2TB drive and the device doesn't recognize it. Third, the videos we record on our mobile phones won't play. It seems pointless to me to talk about a good video player if it cannot play the most commonly used video formats. In conclusion, I don't want to spend money on it as it only does half of what it's supposed to. to be able to do. I can't find any instructions on how to fix these issues and nothing related. Overall I think it would be much better if a little more attention was paid to the software that runs it. But I'll see if I can send it back.
