I had to replace a stator on my Harley a few weeks ago, I don't have a lift so I did it on a stand. For the most part, the repair was fairly easy and didn't take long, but with the bias of the primary winding, I had trouble getting the gasket in place. Long story short, I ran out of breath. Not trusting myself to change the pad when leaning the bike, I bought this pad to keep the bike upright. It worked great, the bike was nice and safe. I stole the idea from one of the other reviewers with a flimsy board bolted to a stop to keep it from moving and it worked great. The repair was easy, unlike the first time I was able to hang the gasket on the dowel pins and this time the gasket sealed properly. The only problem I had was getting the bike off the stand. My Harley weighs almost 1,000 pounds and I just didn't have what it took to get the bike back on track. Luckily there was an easy solution. I lowered the side stand, pulled the pin on the seesaw and just pulled the bike straight back, the seesaw slid along and I was able to move the bike forward a bit, put it on the stand and pull the seesaw to the right. Outside. After that, rolling the bike away from the rest of the ride was trivial.
