Review on 12ft Straight Power Cord for Escort & Beltronics Radar Detectors by Matthew Goozmer

I replaced the coiled cord on my Beltronics radar detector with this straight power cord after using the coiled cord for about 4 years. Due to the location of the radar detector on my windshield and the distance from the outlet to the detector, I didn't notice the slight tension created by the coiled power cord. Over time, this led to tension and permanent tension in the connection between the mains cable and the RJ45 plug. Soon enough voltage was present to cut power to the radar detector, causing the unit to shut down intermittently and sometimes not receive any power at all. So I went for a longer, straight power cord that gives me just the right length for my radar detector. So far, so good
