Review on 🚲 BELL Ripley Adult Bike Helmet: Superior Protection for Cyclists by Jamil Fog

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm not quite sure how to view this! :-)

I was born in the 1950s, went to elementary school in the 1960s and actually didn't ride a bike until I was 15 because my father was afraid that crazy drivers would run over me. (I gained about 10 pounds when I was going through puberty and my doctor used to scold me about it; when I was fifteen I finally cheated and told the doctor that I could lose some weight if I had a bike, to ride with friends. After all, I really lost weight.) Nobody thought about bicycle helmets at that time anyway. I rode my bike until I left home in 1984 without wearing a single helmet. My husband and I bought bikes a few years ago and when we rode them it was around and we didn't even think about helmets at the time. After that, two of our bikes remained locked in the back of our garage for several years. Well this year I've retired, pumped out my bike, pumped up the tires and got used to riding again and now that it's cool again I'd like to start but thought about the helmet thing. But I never used it. So I'm not familiar with bicycle helmets. It seems strong enough to lull my head to sleep if I get a headbutt. It is made of hard foam. It has an adjustable strap on the back (probably all helmets have it) to fit snugly around my head and the chin strap fit perfectly out of the box. But boy did I not know how tight a bike helmet was supposed to fit. When properly seated on my head and the chin strap is practically claustrophobic. I had to take it off after five minutes. But that's not the bike helmet's fault. I would say this is a good standard bike helmet. It's plain black, but if I want to jazz it up I can glue or paint it. I would say this is a good buy. Someone else who has worn these things for years will be able to tell you more.
