I chose this starter because it was new and made in the USA. When you receive the starter, however, it is clearly stamped as refurbished. Had I known this was renovated I would have rated and compared purchases differently. Bait and switch safe. Like most people when they buy an appetizer they need it right away, and so do I, so I didn't send it back. I installed it and it's been working for a few weeks now, no problems other than the ad hype.
