Whether on the ends or sides of oak parquet, this carbide cutter cuts grooves "like a hot knife in butter". I simply clamped the deck board and used the cutter in my Porter-Cable portable router (not a router table). There was no "hanging out" or distancing. The "correct" laying of a parquet floorboard is indispensable without this cutter - no "butt" connections, as the cutter allows slots to be made.
