We have a It's in a remote location without much technological infrastructure, but there's a Verizon cell tower less than a mile away. I bought it with the idea of having a 4G WiFi in the cabin that I can access without using my phone as a hotspot. Unfortunately, the device simply did not offer an acceptable speed. When I removed the SIM card from my phone and inserted it into this device, I was able to turn it on and connect to the Verizon network with no issues. I connected my laptop to the Wi-Fi provided by the device and started testing basic internet functions and ran some speed tests. Using my phone as a hotspot, I was able to reliably get download and upload speeds of around 30-40Mbps. This device only dumped around 5-12MB and often seemed to stutter around 2-4MB. It just couldn't be used. I was wondering if there was an updated firmware that might help and tried checking the manufacturer's website for the latest firmware software. Vain. The site is just poorly organized. Any mention of firmware in blog posts takes you to Google Drive, and it was hard to know what you were getting. the concrete implementation was simply not enough. I will continue to search for the best solution for the internet in the cabin. In the meantime, I just use my phone as a hotspot for other devices.
