The previous thermometer only had 1 sensor and I found 2 sensors to be much more useful for grill/smoker temperature control. like meat. Especially important when smoking at low temperature - 275 doesn't cook the same as 325 degrees, but most built-in grill thermometers will be off by 50 degrees or more. The two probes and wires on this thermometer seem to do a good job in normal grill heat. The remote reading range seems good, reading reliably from my backyard to the garage, maybe 100-150 feet across the house. I used to try a Bluetooth thermometer with my phone app, but the app was having a problem and required my location (and probably stole my data) and then stopped working properly. Better have a dedicated reader; 10 years from now my phone and thermometer app will be long gone, but this thermometer with a dedicated remote might still work.
