I was really surprised how much I like this 3D pen. I have been in the technology field for over 25 years and have focused on 3D technology for the last 5 years. I usually use 3D printers, so I had to learn a bit when I started using 3D pens. I've bought pens for $30 to $200. This pen is a good mid-range pen that offers quality, comfort, durability and is incredibly easy to use. It has a really nice slanted design which I like because my hand gets tired quickly after using the pens for a while. They tend to twist and turn during use. This one fits my hand nicely, which is nice as the buttons are easily accessible on either side on this design. The filament type, ABS or PLA, is clearly displayed on the LCD and is selected by simply pressing the eject button, then set the desired temperature and in a few seconds you are ready to print. I love that the filament keeps spreading once you press the filament feed button until I press the button again to stop the flow. Another nice feature is that instead of a slider, this controller uses buttons to select the amount of thread to distribute. A simple press and I can control whether I want to output a thick or thin line of filament. Another feature is the sleep mode. The pen will beep to let you know it's going to sleep. I like this feature because while I'm cleaning up my project by trimming off loose ends or smoothing out sharp edges, the pen doesn't burn or throw away the filament (which has happened with another pen type). To change the thread color, simply press and hold the reverse button for 5 seconds. The pen continues to twist the thread. I can't tell you how much I LOVE this option. With most pens I accidentally press backfeed and instead of continuing my project I have to stop, wait for them to run out and then refill them with the same color, all because I pressed the wrong button. This pen got me out of that frustration and that alone is worth every penny lol. This isn't a professional pen, but it does an excellent job of dispensing filament that, with a little time and patience to learn how to use this pen properly, can create many fun, useful, and beautiful projects. In this period of self-isolation and self-isolation, it is comfortable to spend time with benefit. I like doing that with my grandchildren. 3D printer pens are a lot of fun and this pen is full of fun. It comes with 3 PLA filaments - not enough to really create anything, but enough to test different temperatures and dispenser feeds. You also get a ready-made template for creating other 3D projects. I found templates very useful when I first started using the pen. So the bottom line is, if you're looking for a really nice mid-range 3D pen that will help you do whatever you can, be creative, but not break the bank - I recommend this pen. It can be cheaper but then you get what you pay for. I would like to add that initially I had questions about using the pen after purchasing it. I emailed the seller with my questions and he responded immediately, solving my problem and also giving me some tips on how to use this pen. A good price + great customer service + high quality 3D pen make this a win for anyone who buys this device. This makes a great stocking for everyone.
