These shelves are plenty sturdy to hold small items. the metal is substantial and feels sturdy. it definitely doesn't look rickety or cheap.The shelves must be assembled but everything is included, but the instructionssay otherwise. Ignore the part that says you will need to supply a screwdriver -- the screws use an allen wrench and that is provided. It goes together very quickly, even for someone who isn't real good with instructions or tools.The color on the metal didnt show any scratches despite being dropped. The only place I saw any color come off was around the screw hole and the screw covers it nicely.I think this is just the right size for essentials without taking up too much space. It looks really nice when assembled, too.Sturdy, durable and good looking. what's not to love?
