Best value for money - rinse well top and bottom.

When considering choosing this product over another, I noticed that several reviews mentioned a strong odor upon use. Although I was cautious, based on other reviews, price, finish and thickness I decided to take a chance. The instructions for use specifically state that it must be thoroughly rinsed and dried before first use. I noticed an odor when rinsing, but after two cycles of thorough rinsing of both the top and bottom of the stone (I suspect this is where others screwed up), the odor seemed to go away abruptly. I then towel dried the stone and air dried it for 30 minutes before placing it in the oven and heating it at 500 degrees for another 30 minutes. During this time, neither I nor my roommates noticed any odors.
