They are not related. When I tried to put them together it cracked. Upon further investigation, it turns out that both sides are in the same row. It would help if they were separate. However when I tried to put them together they fit but they were so loose that when I hung them on the rope they opened up and what I had inside fell out. They don't fit exactly. If so, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to take them apart if I wanted to change it as suggested in your description because they would break. I am very dissatisfied with this product. It's garbage.
