The concept of the magnet seems exaggeratedly well thought out: A metal plate is inserted into the housing (does not work without housing) and the magnet is attached to the housing from the outside, which adheres to the holder. I then had a tough time installing the mount, the included double sided tape didn't stick to any surface in my car and didn't hold the mount with my phone on it. I ended up permanently gluing the mount to the dashboard. Also, I have a wireless charging adapter that doesn't work with metal pieces next to it, so the whole concept is either/or incompatible with my life. I would not buy it again and would recommend it to anyone.
