These are pretty strong hoses, I suspect people insert them incorrectly and pinch the hoses at some point during installation hence the negative reviews. My own hose burst when I pumped directly onto the valve. This is the only part of the tube that is difficult to fit directly into the rim tape once installed. I have found that after inserting the tube and checking that everything is seated on the rim tape, you need to push the valve down and then lower it so the part of the tube next to the valve is between the tires and in the rim tape, so that it does not get stuck on one side when pumping. But to be honest, if you have a good set of tires, inner tubes should last a long time. Instead of constantly spending so much on inner tubes, I invest in Gatorskin tires. I wish I knew something before going through 6 tubes on a tire when you put the tire bead back on. The last few centimeters are very difficult to hit on the rim. But whatever you do, try NOT to use tire levers here! That's why I had so many flat tires in the same place. Instead, compress the tire on both sides in the middle on each side and keep compressing and lifting. This creates some play in the last few centimeters, up to which you can MANUALLY place the bead on the tire.
