Review on Stant 48792 Stainless Steel OE Type Thermostat by Jesus Olsen

What can I say? This is the new Stant thermostat. I installed it on my 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi when I replaced the water pump. It is well made and fits perfectly in the water pump cutout. Just screw on the thermostat housing, no gasket needed (I bought it but didn't need it. Also no factory extra gasket). Sealed with a rubber band around the thermostat. It is set to 203 degrees like the OEM. After installation I have a temp. The needle of the pressure gauge is in the same position as the old one. I don't know why and there are no instructions but I've read that the brass tit on the thermostat needs to be set to the top position (at 12 o'clock or towards the hood. Maybe it's because of air bubbles) which can leak out of the system.
