You've seen and heard all about the dangers of motorcycles, and you bravely bought one anyways. But your bravery does not stop there, it goes even further. So here you are, seriously considering buying a lifesaving motorcycle essential for much, much, much cheaper than the average market price. You're the Sir Galahad of dead bikers.Of course, any helmet sold in the US must be DOT certified, so this isn't as crazy as it sounds. Sure, there are higher certifications you can go for (ECE, SNELL), but as some reviews here attest, this helmet is legally required to keep your skull reasonably protected in an accident. So, where are they cutting costs to provide you with a passably safe helmet for such a low price?Basically everywhere else.The lining in this helmet is crap, with the edging already coming off in mine. The wind noise is insane, I can barely hear myself think on the highway, which isn't great on a motorcycle at highway speeds (oh, and this is after my foam-tape intervention to try to seal the massive gaps around the visor). My little sun visor thing is permanently stuck in the up position, so that's a non-feature. The netting around the little modular-release button seems to be coming out. The airflow is pitiful and noisy (of course) and the visor immediately starts fogging if I'm doing under 30 MPH, so most of the time in the city I'm riding with it cracked.By the way, this is after less than a month.So, my lesson here is that you get what you pay for. It's a decent shell that looks okay, but beyond government-mandated safety standards and style, this helmet is a hot piece of garbage. I needed a lid quickly so I don't regret buying it, but now that I've reviewed some more, I'm going to be ordering the Schuberth C3 Lite (available at Revzilla).Two stars for insanely low price, but that's all I can give it in good conscience.
