Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Whiteside Router Bits 3347 - 3/4" Diameter by Alvaro Delic

Difficult to use but did the job

This nozzle requires very fine tuning to get a good connection. If you don't have a router table to fine tune the bit depth and fence depth, don't even try. You will also need a router table with a gauge to measure the depth of the fence because unlike other routers, it is important here that your fence is straight. Depending on the wood you are using, you may also need a variable speed router. When I first tried this nozzle it was a disaster. After a few tweaks and test patterns I was very close, but foolishly decided to make what I thought was a very small adjustment and then went through my final box details without making another test connection. never do that My "small" adjustment messed it up so much that it messed up the drawer pieces and I had to start over with new wood. On my second try, it took me 45 minutes to set the chisel depth and fence depth, but I finally got a decent connection. Whiteside doesn't seem to have a good guide on how to set this bit up and how to troubleshoot if you haven't set it up quite right. It's not bad, but people new to it need to know how to set it up. I give them a star for that. I watched a few videos and used Lee Valley's instructions for her little drawer lock. All in all, I wish I had gone with a simple drawer to lock connector for my first drawer project. I'm a carpenter with 3 years experience - fairly new so take that into account in my experience with this racquet.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
