I made the fatal mistake of buying an ice tray that produces small cubes but doesn't have a lid. I don't recommend doing this. I used it until it eventually broke - it was hard plastic and not very flexible which resulted in ice cubes flying all over the place as there was no lid (again. Don't do that). I read a lot of reviews and decided on this set. It was the right choice. Trays have some recoil. The lids fit well and keep the dice in check. And the added bonus is that every single dice holder is made out of silicone, which is a stroke of genius. If the inevitable stubborn latecomer refuses to be freed from the tray, I can just push them out. Bowls with lids (and silicone) = GOOD Hard plastic bowls without lids = BAD.
