Terminals too small

It is very difficult to install 6 gauge wire into the terminals of this jack. I had to separate the strands because the set screw is in the middle of the clip. It would be nice if it had clamp clips that would leave a full hole for the wire clamp. It's really hard to put together. I have used other RV sockets which were much easier to install.

Easy Box on Electronics

There is a place to close the door with a 50A plug. I'd say it's splashproof rather than waterproof. Not rated for #6 wire (required for 50 amps). I had to split the #6 stranded wire to fit it in the terminal. The screw runs down the center of the terminal hole so #6 wire (50A wire) will not fit without splitting the strands. The Phillips screws used to clamp wires are tiny. hope they hold up. Knockouts are a joke. As others have said a hammer will only damage the box. You will need to use aโ€ฆ

Does the job - Electronics

So yesterday I installed this box. Holes for wire connections are not holes. The box was dented in one fell swoop. I had to use a step drill to cut a hole in the box. The included ground wire is very short when plugged in and the point where it gets stuck is on the back of the box and very difficult to reach with a screwdriver if the plug is in the way. I had to connect a much longer ground wire so I could take the plug out of the box to get my hands and a screwdriver there and on the back ofโ€ฆ

Multiple Socket

Installing this socket in the motorhome was simple and straightforward. The internal cabling is already laid. All you have to do to get this box working is install the box and connect the 50 amp power line. The lid doesn't close easily, and the spring latch provided to secure the lid is problematic at best. it constantly jams and doesn't fix the lid well. If the cover is not properly attached, weather protection will be compromised. I like separate circuit breakers for each outlet. The lidโ€ฆ

This article was rubbish!

We spent more than two hours trying to insert the wires into the socket and finally found that the bottom plate that was supposed to attach to the screw had broken off and was floating in the socket. The next morning we went to Maynard's and bought another one and it was hooked up in 5 minutes. This product was a waste of money. The design is terrible. The screw goes through the plates which should compress the wire and hold it in place, making it impossible to hold the wire well. If it comesโ€ฆ

Somewhere a Chinese

laughs his ass. Yes, I have read the reviews. I tried to remove the worst and most paid reviewers and came to a solution. It was wrong. Maybe the $60 from the local dealer on wheels is just as bad, I don't know. I tried to knock out the knockout, he broke the bottom plate. Be prepared to use a hole saw as they cannot be knocked out. As others have said, it's impossible to keep the door open. I drilled through the rivets and used 10-32 screws with a little force. The latch handle holds the doorโ€ฆ

Think of something else

Thing is a bunch of crap. Socket plugs alone aren't easy except for THHN 8 or 6 AWG stranded wire for whatever. The screw that secures the wire to the connector is right in the center of the insertion hole, so 6 or 8 AWG wire cannot be terminated. The instructions recommended separating the wires and doing it like a snake tongue and trying to glue it that way. My electrician said it was pretty stupid. We had to go to a hardware store and replace the plug with a Leviton 1450 NEMA plug, which the
