Complicated Marble Walkway

I wanted something less cumbersome and boring than the vertical marble towers you build with plastic cubes. My 7 year old enjoyed watching them but they were unreliable, tipped over and were so noisy when the balls went through them! So we tried that. We've played with it a lot and it's always interesting and new. If you're building a huge track, be prepared to invest time and effort into it. I play with it because it takes a lot of critical thinking and planning ahead to make it work. But she's learned so much about inertia and gravity, and it's amazing. The track is built horizontally, so we end up playing on the ground and doing our best every time. We've created mazes and racetracks, both of which are a lot of fun to create and play with. Most of the parts are plastic, but they feel pretty solid and the pieces fit together well without breaking where it would hurt to pull them apart. The base is cardboard, strong cardboard, but you should still be careful not to damage it. This is the first item I have ever bought that fits perfectly in its original packaging! However, you will need multi-gallon locks for all parts. I have 2 for white path tiles, 1 for green tiles and special tiles, 1 for all elevation tiles, 1 for all track tiles and a small one for balls. We store parts in bags during construction and pack them back when we're done. It's organized and makes cleaning a breeze! And they all fit in one box! I highly recommend this track, it's really top notch, but it's not a toy for small children and parents of small children can find themselves building everything themselves and then the children just play with it. I see my daughter has been enjoying this for years!
