I bought the camera because of the zoom function. Although the overall picture is fantastic, sometimes this camera needs extra lighting. I would also add that the autofocus is flawless. My only complaint is that if your room is very bright, you may need behind-camera lighting to get the right tone. Also, the mount CANNOT be swiveled left or right. Just up and down. A tripod mount is available that fixes this, but it doesn't come with a tripod. Finally, the zoom function works great, no software is required to zoom the camera as there is a button on the top bar that you press. Very easy to use and saves your settings for next use. Unfortunately I haven't tested the pickup and don't intend to because I have other equipment for it. Great product, I got used to it so it doesn't bother me anymore.
