Review on Dorman 521 128 Control Arm by Chad Boho

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Ball joint is weak because it's brand new - good for budget builds

I bought a MOOG for the left side. I received an opened package. I bought this one correctly because the ball joint and markings on the arm looked the same as on the MOOG. They're within .2 pounds of each other, but Dorman's ball joint is really loose and weak. I didn't expect that for so much money. It's like a $35 gun in terms of the extras. All of the welds are the same as MOOG, only they lack the strength you would expect from a new ball joint.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction - extra coatings provide long lasting protection against rust and corrosion
Cons
  • Very expensive
