I used scissors to slightly adjust these protectors. I was even able to cut and put them together on set and the pieces seem to stay in place. I walked up and down the steps a few times as did my 60 lb dog and they didn't move. I gave them 4 stars for sticking because they moved when I vacuumed shortly after placing them, but when I reduced the vacuum's suction and became more careful with the movement of the suction head, they stayed in place. A very finicky gripe is that the white underside is visible when looking at the steps from below. I tried using a black permanent marker on the edge of one of the steps and that fixed the problem. You can see the difference in the top part of the tread in the first photo - no white! I recommend these protectors and will buy them again!
