If you had asked me for a review the first day I owned this product I would have given it three stars. Now on day two it's a 5 star rating. Why? When I first got the MagGrip, I put it on the air vent in my car, secured the phone with the metal plate that came with it (which came between my case and the phone), and drove off. MagGrip held the phone with no issues. However, when I tried to take the phone off the magnet, the entire MagGrip fell out of the opening. I didn't like it at all. On the second day of use, I was in the process of putting it back on the vent for the fifth or sixth time when I took a closer look at the back of the device, i.e. the handles. I noticed that the 4 rubber grips were not evenly spaced. The horizontal gap is twice the vertical one. Epiphany! Not all cars have the same thickness of air vents, some are thinner than others. Sure enough, once I rotated the MagGrip 90 degrees it held a closer clearance to my vent with just enough grip that I could remove my phone without lifting the MagGrip off the vent. I couldn't be happier. The MagGrip design is top notch and easily holds my large Galaxy Note 4 on some really bumpy roads. Just take the time to use the correct orientation for your vent size and I think you will be satisfied with this item.
