It's ok but not the best solution for shelling

The knives themselves are ok and we were even able to open specialty oysters which have a complex seal that minimizes slipping and nicks on the knuckles/hands , but when you buy a real mesh protective glove you don't expect it. The glove is basically a scratchy fabric, not like the ones you see in restaurants, so don't rely on it to protect your hand if you slip. The glove helps to grab oysters a little better, we didn't find the yellow grab that comes with this kit very helpful.
