Review on πŸ”§ True Utility MiniDriver: Compact Key-Ring Screwdriver for Everyday Use by Gregory Rasmussen

Sometimes the mini is too small.

I bought this for the CRKT Ritter RSK Mk5 Tin Knife Tool Set I EDC. This was a replacement for the Topeak TT2524 Ratchet Rocket Lite DX tool, which I've had considerable success with, but took up a lot of space in a tiny package. missing badly. I've found it to work acceptably for light duty applications, but for any propeller that needs actual torque to turn. Using a wrench for additional torque creates a slippery assembly that does not provide a secure grip; this is especially noticeable when you reach for something. I lost half of my instrument climbing behind a cabinet and had to spend time looking for individual parts that had come loose. Worse, your own hands tend to get in the way of complicated work because they're so short. The grip tape helps a bit but a longer grip would help a lot and also allow for longer bits. The carabiner tends to get in the way too, but if you remove it you'll have to search for your bits, 1 of which has already been lost in less than a month and another destroyed in "torture" processes. In addition, the bits are so short that I need small pliers to pry them out of the magnet housing. I would advise the manufacturer to round off one side of the bits on the bottom so you can push them out of the magnet. It would be a rethink to use a screw cap at the end with a small key ring like the True Utility TU241. Round the slit at the back to allow the cap to fit the canter. This would provide enough torque to close the bits and - in theory - allow longer bits to be used.
