I have two 27" Apple Cinema Displays from 2011 and I'm planning on connecting them to my new 2019/2020 Mac Pro soon. I also have a pair of MacBook Pros with USBC/Thunderbolt connectors. I took the cable out of the box, hooked it up to the display cable, hooked it up to one of my MacBook Pros - worked GREAT I then changed the USB cable from the monitor to a USB 2 -> USB C (Apple) Plugged in the cable, plugged it into my laptop, the security camera on the monitor worked flawlessly, rarely does anything work so easily out of the box.
