I love this lens, it's my favorite and travel lens. First, it's one of the few Alpha lenses made in Japan. The quailty quality is there and I love that it matches the black of my Sony A77. Unlike other lenses I've tried, this one fits the magnesium alloy A77 body very well. (not heavy, but not easy either - just right!) As a hobby photographer, this lens exceeded all my expectations. I'm also very impressed with how QUIET the SAM motor is compared to the SAL 18-250 lens. This means that the lens is very handy for videos with AF or manual mode. I also like the fact that you can switch from AF to manual focus without a switch by simply adjusting the lens's focus ring (not many lenses have this feature). )
