I bought this lens to replace the lens that came with my camera which was a slightly older version of the same model. I encountered the same problem as some other users with this lens, which is that the camera sometimes shows "No lens attached" even though the lens is attached. well attached. This lens has a small knob on the side that allows it to be retracted to a "closed" position. If you press the button and rotate the lens from this position, your camera will register that the lens is attached and work as usual! I'm glad I have this feature because it makes it easier to put my camera in my camera bag on the go and I don't have to constantly remove and reattach the lens. I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to breathe new life into their old Nikon.
