It was great that it came with cute little strings to tie when I want to let in some light but the curtains get thin when pulled up and unfolded. They are pleasant to the touch, but the light comes through in the form of many small dots, making them look like a thin material. This keeps the temperature inside and outside. You can see a little more through them in the picture than in real life, but even then they look thin pulled up. *update* You don't look so skinny when the sun goes down a bit.
