Get an extension mount if you ever want to do something with your TV.

I have installed dozens of wall mounts in my life and have been purchasing Monoprice mounts since the company was founded. The quality is definitely worth 5 stars and the fact that you can attach the TV with your hands makes it easy to hang on the wall. With a negative level, the screw that attaches the arms to the bracket will never be fully tightened. So if you press hard on the TV from the side, it will slide onto the bracket. Never had a problem with the TV falling off the bracket but maybe if someone pushes the TV sideways. So there is one thing to consider before buying if this is your first mount. then I would advise against this type and instead get one that comes out of the wall, either an angle or a scissor hanger. The main reason is that when the tv is hung on the wall with this particular wall mount you can't easily access the back of the tv to plug and unplug cables and this makes me very frustrated. It can take 5 minutes to get there and try to align the cables and slide them in without leverage, while that process takes about 5 seconds for a slide-out mount. Move the TV away from the wall, plug in the cable and put the TV back. Easy. Additionally, retractable arms allow you to move the TV from a different angle, while a permanent mount like this is just straight. I seriously don't understand the benefit of this mount over retractable mounts.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • This worries me
