Haven't used it for a long time but looks like it will hold up well. I use it in my aquariums. I tie a piece of a weighted cucumber or zucchini to this string and lower it into the container, leaving the free end outside the container. When the veggies are gone, I can just pull the rope to take the weight off. I'm testing it right now to make sure the cord color doesn't bleed, but so far so good.
