I have several binoculars. Some are quite expensive. This little Hummingbird 9-27x 56mm scope was a pleasant surprise. The first thing I found was that it has an eyepiece collet that allows you to mount regular 1.25 inch telescope eyepieces. I don't think this was documented anywhere in the documentation. I've only tried a few eyepieces, so I'm not ready to form an opinion on how effective they are. The only impression I have is that some eyepieces create quite a curvature in the field of view due to the short focal length. As far as the view with the eyepiece switched on with magnification is concerned, I am very satisfied. Images are crisp and it handles everything well. This scope is the most compact I have and weighs maybe a pound. But the images are bright and it's easy to focus. This completes the next step. binoculars and can even be hand-held, although it's best to lean it against it or use a tripod. All in all, highly recommended.
