I originally wanted to return the film because I thought the design was too big for my window panes. I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. It was a hassle having to account for the imposts, but overall I'm happy with the design. Took me about 4 hours to cut and install 24 pieces of film. My windows are 91 years old and that time included removing accumulated paint from the windows/goats so hopefully that will pass quicker for people who don't do this task as well. I used Windex to clean the window and then used a spray bottle of water and a few drops of dish soap to spray the window before removing the protective film and applying the film. I have found that it is much easier to trim the pieces before applying than to cut them too big and trim off the excess after applying. I worry that in the dark and with the lights on, you can still see a nice chunk in the window. I took a picture and you can clearly see where the door to the dark corridor is in the window. They may not see the details, but they can see the person moving. As for privacy, I will still use the blinds, especially since this is a bathroom and nudity is involved.
