I bought this thermometer for my soap making hobby. It is excellent. I no longer have to worry about cleaning the thermometer, dripping lye everywhere when I take it out, or anything else. And I only need one thermometer for the entire batch instead of a separate one for bases and oils. I highly recommend it if you make soap. I suppose it would be good for uses like making candy (although I haven't tried it for that). out! It's very easy to use, I got the hang of it in just a few minutes. I don't know how it will hold up, so I won't comment on its durability just yet. Read the instructions first as it's not about taking the temperature of everything and you have to be careful with the laser of course.
